Eastern Promenade Park Improvement Projects:
The Loring Memorial Connector Trail

The 2004 Master Plan for the Eastern Promenade recommends improved pedestrian connections throughout the park. Thanks to funding we received from the Maine Recreational Trails Grant program, preliminary work has begun on the trail. Collaborating with the City of Portland and Portland Trails, recycled curbing has been used to create beautiful stone steps along the steepest sections of the path. The trail is already much more user friendly than its former eroded, vertical wear path allowed for. Keep an eye on us as the work continues leading to our Grand Opening Celebration in October!
